KC Royals: Week Two Minor League Rundown
By Scott Dillon
Omaha Storm Chasers: 5-1
The Omaha Storm Chasers were on fire this week with a 5-1 record. It helps that they have six players batting .300 or better on the season.
Those players include Cheslor Cuthbert, Tony Cruz, Cody Decker, Balbino Fuenmayor, Travis Snider, and Parker Morin.
The Storm Chasers won a game in walk-off, come from behind fashion with a 8-7 victory on April 14th. They scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth and it ended when Balbino Fuenmayor hit a bases loaded walk-off double.
Cody Decker owns the lead in home runs for the Storm Chasers with a total of three. Jarrod Dyson is nearing his MLB return and has three stolen bases so far. He and Whit Merrifield both have three swiped bags on the young season. Merrifield also has a pair of double and a home run.
Cheslor Cuthbert is leading the charge with 11 RBIs for the Storm Chasers but he did come back to earth a little bit this week. His pace was torrid after the first three games and he’s still out to a great start.

Brooks Pounders has looked good for the Storm Chasers. He’s got a 2-0 record and a 1.46 ERA while both of his wins came this week.
Jonathan Dziedzic is looking phenomenal for the Storm Chasers so far. Through 12 innings of work he has 14 strikeouts and hasn’t given up an earned run. In spite of the 0.00 ERA he’s got a 1-1 record on the season. He also struck out six while only allowing three hits in a seven inning performance this week.
