Best Fifth Round Picks of All-Time – Number 10: Derrick Graham (Chiefs offensive guard from 1990-1994)

In the 1990 NFL Draft, the KC Chiefs took offensive guard Derrick Graham in the fifth round out of Appalachian State. He spent five years in Kansas City and became a decent addition to the offensive line during those good seasons under Marty Schottenheimer.

Graham was only a full-time starter during one season in Kansas City until his final one in 1994 where he started 11 games. All of the other seasons saw him playing in every game, but only starting a handful.

At the end of five years, Graham appeared in 51 games, but only made 16 starts.

The argument can be made, however, that for a fifth round pick, Graham certainly did his fair share. He was a nice backup to have in case of injury and spent half a decade with the team that spent a late round pick on him.

Derrick Graham left the Chiefs after the 1994 season and signed with Carolina. He spent one year there, played in Seattle for two seasons, and finished his career in Oakland in 1998.
