Northwest Arkansas Naturals: 1-3

The Northwest Arkansas Naturals were swept by Frisco in the first three games of the season before rebounding with a blowout win to open up a series against Midland.

Alec Mills, the Royals’ 14th ranked prospect, was the hard-luck loser in the first game of the season. The Naturals’ right handed pitcher struck out seven hitters across five innings. He had no walks and only gave up one earned run. The Naturals were blanked on offense with only four hits on the day.

In the second game of the season left-handed pitcher Matt Strahm pitched five innings of two hit baseball. The tenth ranked prospect for the Royals didn’t allow any walks or runs and the Naturals would go on to lose by a score of 6-3.

The first game against Midland yielded better results for the Naturals as they put up 16 runs and held the Rockhounds to earn their first win of the season. Six hitters had multi-hit games for the Naturals.

Bubba Starling and Hunter Dozier, the Royals’ seventh and 15th ranked prospects respectively, each had two home runs for the Naturals.

Top prospect Raul Mondesi also added a home run for the Naturals and now has two on the season. He also has a stolen base on the young season.
