KC Chiefs Best Fourth Round Picks of All-Time | Number 4: Donnie Edwards

Donnie Edwards was selected by the KC Chiefs in the 1996 NFL Draft with a fourth round pick that originally belonged to the Jaguars before being traded to the Dolphins, then finally, to the KC Chiefs. Although third on this list, Edwards is the greatest two-point stance linebacker ever selected by the KC Chiefs in the fourth round.

His first and last seasons are the only years in which he recorded less than 80 tackles.

After recording just eight tackles in his 1996 rookie season, Edwards recorded 469 tackles, 14.5 sacks, nine interceptions, and eight fumble recoveries over his next five seasons with the KC Chiefs from 1997-2001.

Although Edwards may not be quite good enough for the Hall of Fame, he was still a great player, and, much like other players on this list, his longevity should be commended.

From 1998-2001, Edwards lead the KC Chiefs in tackles for four straight years.

The following season, Edwards joined the San Diego Chargers and made his first and only Pro Bowl in 2002.

Edwards continued to put up big numbers in his five seasons with the Chargers from 2002-2006.

By the time the Chargers let his contract expire in 2006, Edwards had totaled 535 tackles, 52 pass deflections, 14 interceptions, and seven sacks with San Diego.

Edwards signed with the KC Chiefs where he played two final seasons before retiring in 2008. Over the course of his 13 year career, Edwards recorded 1123 tackles, 59 pass deflections, 28 interceptions, 23.5 sacks, and 11 fumble recoveries in 180 starts.

Although Edwards may not be quite good enough for the Hall of Fame, he was still a great player, and, much like other players on this list, his longevity should be commended. Currently, you can watch Edwards and his wife Kathryn on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Considering the show is already on its sixth season, Edwards continues to produce for long stretches of his career on and off the field.
