Teams To Watch Out For In 2016 – Number 5: San Francisco Giants

Royals fans still are likely bitter at the San Francisco Giants for ruining their storybook ending in 2014. The Giants defeated the Royals in seven games of the 2014 World Series and that was their third in the past decade.

The Giants have won World Series titles in 2010, 2012, and 2014, making them a well-known “even year” team. With this being an even year, and with the Giants adding key players like former Royal Johnny Cueto and Jeff Samardzija, the boys in the bay could be poised to make yet another run in the postseason.

San Francisco struggled with injuries last season, most notably to Hunter Pence, who spent a large part of the season on the disabled list. With Pence returning and the new pitchers the team brought in this offseason, expect the Giants to be right back in contention in 2016.

Hey, maybe we’ll see another Royals and Giants rematch in the World Series, only with the right outcome this time. That’d take the sting away from the end of 2014 for sure.
