KC Chiefs Roster Options After Houston ACL Catastrophe
By Bobby Miller
Cameron Gordon
If you search hard enough, hidden deep within the KC Chiefs depth chart you may find this linebacker out of Michigan. To this day, Cameron Gordon has not posted any statistics, even during his time with the Patriots. Although, I did find this 2014 scouting report on him that sounded promising.
“Athletic defensive prospect with possibilities at several positions. Displays good movement skills, collapses down the line of scrimmage, and shows tremendous quickness.” -DraftInsider.net
DraftInsider.net had this to say about Gordon. “Athletic defensive prospect with possibilities at several positions. Displays good movement skills, collapses down the line of scrimmage, and shows tremendous quickness.
Easily changes direction and immediately alters his angle of attack to pursue the action. Stands up over tackle in a 3-4 alignment and shows skill as a pass rusher.”
I may take this scouting report littered with multiple sentence fragments and incorrect punctuation with a grain of salt. Either way, it appears as though Gordon is about all you can ask for out of a college backup.
Who knows, maybe Gordon is destined to follow a similar path of a certain overlooked Michigan alumnus who also played for the Patriots. It’s agreed then, Tom Brady‘s linebacker reincarnation has been found.
Now the KC Chiefs should at least search for another linebacker to play the first four games in case his suspension appeal is denied.
