Fourth: September 12th, 2015 – 9 RBIs

Entering the game against the Orioles on September 12th, Moustakas was on a little bit of a cold streak. He was only 5-21 over his previous September at-bats which isn’t terrible, but it’s not the Moustakas fans had become accustomed to.

All of that ended on September 12th as Moustakas broke through for nine RBIs. The moose has never gotten as loose as he did on this day. If ever there was a time to call the park ranger it was September 12th, 2015.

More from Kansas City Royals

The Royals were in the middle of some bad baseball and ultimately in the middle of a weird series with the Orioles. Their bullpen had a meltdown the night before that saw them blow a late game lead and give up two grand slams in the same inning.

In a game that the Royals really needed to win, Moustakas put the team on his shoulders and set the Royals’ record for RBIs in a single game.

His two-run single in the sixth tied the game up for the KC Royals. He’d then go on to hit a grand slam and a three-run shot in his next two at-bats.

It was a game to remember and had the Royals not been so good in the postseason the last two years, it would probably be his biggest moment.
