Number One Underrated Free Agent – Jahri Evans

Arguably the biggest need for the Kansas City Chiefs heading into the 2016 season is along the offensive line. This past year wasn’t nearly as bad as the 2014 season, but the Chiefs could certainly use more depth along the line.

More from Chiefs Free Agency

Jahri Evans was released by the Saints not long ago, but can definitely still be of service to any team looking to upgrade along their line. The Chiefs traded a fifth round pick last year for former Saints guard Ben Grubbs to be left guard, so maybe it’s time to bring another Saint in to handle the right guard spot.

Right now, the Chiefs have Eric Fisher at left tackle, likely Grubbs again at left guard (even though his inaugural season in Kansas City did not go as planned), Mitch Morse at center, and the right guard and right tackle spot are question marks.

Jeff Allen is slated to be a free agent, but the team still has Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and signed Jah Reid to an extension during the season. That being said, help is still needed, and Evans could be a great pickup.

Evans will turn 33 in August, but he still has what it takes to be a starting offensive guard in the NFL. I’m sure Alex Smith wouldn’t mind signing Jahri Evans.
