Royals at Indians, July 28th

There is one defining moment in the Royals 2015 regular season that will be remembered for years to come. It may not only be one of the best plays all year, but one of the best plays all-time.

This play may take the cake as the play of the year for the entire league, but I may be slightly biased in that regard.

Omar Infante may have struggled with the bat last season, but for one shining moment he was a star. His glove was part of the supporting cast and Escobar took home the Oscar.

This play also kept the tying run off first base going into the bottom of the ninth inning. In a year that saw Greg Holland struggle a great deal, keeping runners off base was a nice change.

Escobar has always dazzled on defense but this was something different. It was really something special and everyone knew it when it happened.

Eric Hosmer came up big in the top of the inning launching a go-ahead home run and was on the receiving end of the throw from Escobar. Hosmer was quoted in an article by CBS Detroit stating:

"“That was incredible,” Hosmer said. “Those guys up the middle never seem to surprise us with the plays they make.”"

He looked equally impressed and surprised by the incredible and unbelievable play by the Royals’ middle infielders.
