Seattle Seahawks. Russell Okung. 1. player. 36. 2015 Stats:. OT

Russell Okung is one of the bigger names in offensive lineman that you can find in the NFL. Back in the 2010 Draft, he was the #6 overall selection by the Seattle Seahawks. Some even said he was good enough to be one of the top two picks at the time.

This off-season, Okung is become a free agent for the first time in his career, as his 6-year, $48 million deal he signed when he was drafted back in 2010 is coming to a close. On the open market, he will likely be one of the most pursued offensive lineman out there and any team would be lucky to acquire him for the right price.

The KC Chiefs’ offensive line is probably the biggest glaring weakness on the team right now, and shelling out some money to this guy would go a long way in turning that around. If he started on the opposite side of the line as Eric Fisher, that would mean we have two top-6 picks from the last six NFL Drafts starting on the Chiefs’ line. Not bad.

On the open market, he will likely be one of the most pursued offensive lineman out there and any team would be lucky to acquire him for the right price.

Alex Smith needs more protection up front if the Chiefs ever want to have a chance to beat the top teams in the AFC like the Patriots, Broncos, and Steelers. The Patriots seemed to key on rushing Smith and ended up winning the conference semi-final that the two played just a few weeks or so ago.

Signing offensive lineman is a must this off-season and Okung would arguably be the best option out there.
