CB. Dallas Cowboys. Morris Claiborne. 2. player. 123. 2015 Stats: 37 combined tackles, 7 passes defensed, 0 interceptions

Morris Claiborne was once upon a time one of the top cornerbacks coming out of college football. He was the sixth overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. He came out of LSU with the reputation of being one of the quickest and most athletic corners that the college ranks had seen in awhile and there was little doubt he would be a bust.

But he ended up being just that, a bust. He ended up having to compete with some other solid defensive backs for playing time in Dallas and he just never seemed to get it done. Not only has Claiborne struggled on the field, but he has also has been injury plagued throughout his career.

The bottom line for Claiborne is that it is definitely time to move on from Dallas and try to resurrect his career. In Kansas City, he would play a similar role to that of DeShawn Shead would if he signed with KC from the Seattle Seahawks that I described back in the second slide of the slide show.

He would be the team’s third corner coming in after Peters and Smith and would be a large improvement over Fleming and Cooper who seem to share the habit of getting roasted by opposing receivers game in and game out.

With his injuries and struggles, Morris Claiborne could be a relatively cheap option to improve the defense for the KC Chiefs.
