The Chiefs defeated the Houston Texans in the first game of the 2015 season.

While this wasn’t a defining win, it ended up being the team’s only victory in the first six weeks of the season. It was a game the Chiefs had to win in order to put themselves in a good position to make it to the postseason and compete with the Denver Broncos for the AFC West title.

It’s a good thing the Chiefs pulled this win out too, because things were about to go downhill very quickly for the team.

Travis Kelce had a great game in Houston in week one, going six for six on receptions with 106 yards and two scores. He was having a grand ol’ time in the Lone Star state.

Alex Smith also had a nice day, throwing for 243 yards and three touchdowns.

The defense also showed up, especially rookie Marcus Peters, who picked Brian Hoyer off on the first defensive snap of the game.

This was a game that the Chiefs absolutely needed to win, as it was their easiest opponent in the first four weeks of the season. It’s a good thing the Chiefs pulled this win out too, because things were about to go downhill very quickly for the team.
