KC Chiefs news on this playoff game day includes Doug Pederson, looking back to last year’s matchup, and more.

The KC Chiefs go up against the New England Patriots in the AFC conference semi-finals after their first playoff win in about 22 years. The streaking Chiefs are on an 11-game win-streak and are becoming one of the most popular Super Bowl picks left if they can advance past the Pats.

Leading up to the game, there has been rumors swirling about injuries to many players from both teams including Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, Justin Houston, Tamba Hali, and more. Also a hospitalization of the Patriots’ stud outside linebacker Chandler Jones, who has reportedly been involved with synthetic marijuana, a potentially dangerous and un-studied drug.

On the more positive side of things, the KC Chiefs’ offensive coordinator Doug Pederson has accepted the Eagles’ new head coaching gig. Pederson has been with the Chiefs for the last three seasons since Andy Reid was hired. He has played the part well, having to manage a lot of injuries and some deficiencies that he has obviously had to deal with.

Other news involves Jeremy Maclin, tomorrow’s game predictions, and more.

My prediction for the game tomorrow:

Chiefs 23 (3,10,0,10)

Patriots 28 (7,6,15,0)

Hopefully I’m wrong with this one, but I just can’t see the Chiefs being able to stop Tom Brady and company.

Here is some news from around the internet regarding recent news including Pederson, the Chiefs’ legacy, and more:

KC Chiefs: Doug Pederson to be Next Eagles Head Coach [KC Kingdom]

"It has been reported that the Philadelphia Eagles, who just fired Chip Kelly a couple of weeks ago, have agreed to a deal with Pederson to be their next head coach. Pederson obviously will finish the season with the Chiefs because he has played a part in their post-season run thus far."

KC Chiefs Can Earn Respect By Beating New England [KC Kingdom]

"Winning a game in the postseason was big enough for the Chiefs, as it’s something they hadn’t been able to accomplish since 1994. Now that the monkey is off the back of the team, the players, and the coaches, they can set their sights on the ultimate goal for any NFL team – Winning the Super Bowl."

Chiefs-Patriots: Jeremy Maclin listed questionable, two KC offensive linemen are out [Arrowhead Pride]

"The Kansas City Chiefs final injury report for New England Patriots week is out and we’re no closer to figuring out whether WR Jeremy Maclin will play. The Chiefs WR is listed as questionable for the game, which is what we figured. He suffered a mild high ankle sprain last week and hasn’t put in a practice this week. He’s a veteran though and can play even without a full week of practice. We will find out about his status when the Chiefs inactives come out around 2 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) on Saturday."

Chiefs vs. Patriots: How to Watch and Listen [KC Chiefs website]

"The Kansas City Chiefs will again host an official Chiefs Kingdom Bar watch party at KC Live! in the Power & Light District for the AFC Divisional matchup against the New England Patriots on Saturday, Jan. 16. This free event will kick off at 2:30 p.m. and will include appearances by KC Wolf, Chiefs Cheerleaders, Warpaint, the Rumble, Chiefs personality Jillian Carroll, autographs by former players and more. The first 5,000 fans in the door at KC Live! will receive an exclusive Chiefs Kingdom Playoff flag, presented by Hy-Vee."
