KC Chiefs: Good, Bad, Ugly VS Houston Texans In Wild Card Game
The Good: Defense
This is an obvious one. The KC Chiefs shut out the Houston Texans so therefore, I’d say they were pretty damn good in this one.
Sure, one could point to the fact that the Houston Texans just aren’t a good team, but hey… They won the (measly) AFC South and earned a playoff spot, and the Chiefs did what they were supposed to do against them, which is beat them.
The Chiefs defensive line dominated the Texans offensive line all game long, and it showed. Hoyer was clearly frustrated that he couldn’t get anything going, and it caused him to keep making mistakes.
Kansas City was easily the better team in this game, and all they had to do to prove it was lay the smackdown on the Texans. They did just that.
Brian Hoyer couldn’t do anything against the Chiefs’ D and was picked off four times (Eric Berry, Josh Mauga, Marcus Peters, and Sean Smith all had interceptions) and also lost a fumble. Four of those five turnovers were in the first half, and the Texans fans began booing Hoyer very early on.
Hoyer finished the day going 15 of 34 for 112 yards, zero touchdowns and four interceptions for a QBR of 1.7. He was also sacked three times (Allen Bailey had two, Jaye Howard had one).

If Kansas City’s defense can continue to show up the way they did in Houston, watch out everybody else.
