The Ugly: Frankie Hammond Jr.
While I would have liked to have gone with the ugly yellow pants the Baltimore Ravens wore on Sunday, I feel like Frankie Hammond Jr. is a more appropriate choice here. He is not a good punt returner.
Hammond had an awful “return” on Sunday where Sam Koch punted it his way and he decided to run backwards. In the process, he lost ten yards and the Chiefs were forced to start their possession on their own seven-yard line.
Hammond isn’t Dante Hall. He can’t make those reverses and gain positive yardage. I’m shocked that he’s still even the punt returner for this team.

Yes, De’Anthony Thomas has been out (and a disappoint this year to say the least), but there’s no one better than Frankie Hammond Jr. to field punts? Why not Jeremy Maclin? He’s a better option for sure.
I also could have made a case for Demetrius Harris here. Harris hasn’t made any type of memorable plays for this team that were positive. He was penalized once in this game on a Ravens punt for running into Koch, and that automatically gave Baltimore a first down. You just can’t do that.
Harris had a similar situation against Buffalo, getting flagged twice that day and costing the Chiefs a chance to make the Bills punt.
He can’t be making mistakes like that if this team wants to go to the postseason, and Hammond needs to start running straight ahead on punt returns. No reversing please.
