Sunday, December 13th VS San Diego Chargers (3-7; 1-4 away), 12:00 CST

After a blowout win against the Chargers just a few weeks ago in San Diego, there’s really not a reason why the Chiefs shouldn’t be able to sweep the Bolts for the second straight year. Yes, Philip Rivers is good, but the Chiefs had their way with him at Qualcomm Stadium, and San Diego’s defense is terrible.

Last year marked the first time the Chiefs had swept the Chargers since 2003, when Drew Brees played quarterback for the Bolts.

Kansas City put up 33 points against the Chargers D, and their defense only allowed three points. I don’t see it getting any better for Rivers and the gang, coming into a loud and rocking Arrowhead environment.

Rivers has always played the Chiefs well, but expect to see him throw another tantrum in this one. Even if Justin Houston, Allen Bailey, and other good defensive players aren’t in this one, they’re still a better defensive unit than San Diego’s. Plus, without Keenan Allen lining up, Rivers has one less reliable weapon.

Last year marked the first time the Chiefs had swept the Chargers since 2003, when Drew Brees played quarterback for the Bolts. The last time the Kansas City Chiefs swept the San Diego Chargers in back to back seasons was in 1991 and 1992 (they also swept them in 1990). That’s back when the Chargers still played at Jack Murphy Stadium.
