Start ‘Em #1

Broncos backup quarterback Brock Osweiler is getting his first start of the 2015 NFL season because starter Peyton Manning went down with a foot injury last week against the KC Chiefs. Osweiler relieved Peyton last week and went 14-for-24, throwing for 146 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception.

While his numbers didn’t really give us much to go on, as he played less than half of the game, he played much better last week than Manning did. Manning threw for just 35 yards and 4 interceptions on his way to probably his worst performance as a pro. He finished with -7 fantasy points in standard leagues.

WOW.

Manning’s struggles could open up the door for Osweiler. While the team is sitting at 7-2, Manning has definitely had the worst season of his career thus far, and considering that he is 39 years-of-age and his obvious declining level of play, it may be time for the Broncos to head in a different direction at quarterback.

Osweiler is now the head of a pretty talented offensive group with guys like Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, and recently acquired tight end Vernon Davis to throw to.

The Broncos matchup with the struggling Chicago Bears in Week 11. A pretty good first start of the season if you ask me. Osweiler should be able to have a pretty good game against a measly Bears’ secondary. I see him being able to get into the endzone multiple times this week. Consider him a good #2 quarterback for this week.
