The Good: Defense

Major props go out to Bob Sutton, the defensive coordinator for the KC Chiefs. He had his troops ready to roll in this one, and man did they come to play!

The Chiefs D picked off Peyton Manning FOUR TIMES in only three quarters of work. They made Manning look so bad that Brock Osweiler actually came into the game before the end of the third quarter (they picked him off once also).

It was a dominant day for the KC defense and it’s safe to say that THIS was the defense Chiefs fans expected to see this season. It’s been there for glimpses this year, but man if they can stick around and the offense can maybe play just a tad bit better, sky’s the limit for this team.

This is a guy who has whooped up on this team so much in the past 18 years. To see Kansas City finally get some sort of revenge on him was beautiful to watch.

The Chiefs made Manning look downright AWFUL in this one. Reports have later surfaced that Manning has a torn plantar fascia in his left foot, according to ESPN, but that shouldn’t take away from the fact that the Chiefs defense just handed it to Manning. He played by far the worst game of his long career.

It’d be great if Kansas City’s defense can continue to play as dominant as they did on Sunday for the rest of the season. They ended the day with five interceptions (four off Manning, one off Osweiler) and kept the pressure on the Broncos quarterbacks with five sacks (two on Manning, three on Osweiler).

Getting pressure on Manning was always the recipe towards beating him, and the Chiefs were finally able to do just that on Sunday.

Well done boys.
