The Chiefs finally drafted a wide receiver this year, and it was Chris Conley out of Georgia in the third round. Conley took awhile to heat up, but he’s been pretty good the past few weeks. After having several drops in the Minnesota game, Conley rebounded the next week against the Steelers.

That particular game saw Conley getting seven targets and nabbing six of them for 63 yards and his first career touchdown. Conley stepped up that week with Jeremy Maclin on the sideline due to injury and was able to play like the type of starting wide receiver that the Chiefs were missing last year.
Conley’s stats on the year after eight games are 14 receptions for 126 yards and a touchdown. He spent the first few weeks playing on special teams, but now appears to be the second starting receiver, as Albert Wilson was struggling at the beginning of the season.
Hopefully Conley can be a reliable receiver for Alex Smith down the stretch. This Chiefs offense needs it.
