The Royals’ bullpen was their saving grace throughout the 2014 season and was expected to take a step back in 2015. While the bullpen has taken a step back, they’ve still been dominant.

Obviously we can pencil in Wade Davis, Kelvin Herrera, and Ryan Madson for the postseason, as they’ll be the final three inning guys. Greg Holland is out for the remainder of the season due to a torn UCL, which knocks off the H-D-H trio that dominated last year in the playoffs.
The other relievers that will likely see the mound during the postseason are Danny Duffy, Luke Hochevar, Franklin Morales, and Chris Young. Duffy and Young would obviously be the long relievers in case a starter struggles or gets injured, and Hochevar and Morales are just nice options to have in case you need a sixth inning guy or one of the trio is unavailable to pitch.
If the bullpen can return to the 2014 form for the playoffs, the Royals have a great shot at winning the World Series.
