January 15th, 1967 at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (Super Bowl I; Chiefs lost 35-10)
Obviously this had to make the list, right? It was the very first Super Bowl! That’s a pretty big deal, and we can certainly expect to hear a lot about the first Super Bowl when Monday Night Football is going on.

Legendary coach Hank Stram led the Kansas City Chiefs to the very first Super Bowl in 1967 (the 1966 season). While the Chiefs lost the big game, it’s still pretty cool being able to say that our beloved Chiefs made it all the way to the very first Super Bowl.
The Packers dominated in this one 35-10, but the Chiefs would make it back to the Super Bowl three years later and end up winning the whole thing. Super Bowl I and IX would be the only two Super Bowls that the Chiefs have made it to, and it’s depressing to think about.
The only Chiefs touchdown in Super Bowl I came on a seven-yard pass to Curtis McClinton from Len Dawson, to tie the game at 7. The Packers added multiple rushing touchdowns afterwards though, and the Green Bay defense held the Chiefs scoreless in the second half of the game.
While I’d like to give some pep talk about how the Chiefs will make it back to the Super Bowl eventually, I just don’t feel like I can say that. It’s been 45 years since the Chiefs made it to (and won) a Super Bowl so you’d have to think they’d make it there again eventually, right? Football just doesn’t work that way though.
