2) Marcus Peters is the team’s best cornerback
Marcus Peters has been outstanding through the first two games, and without him last night I’m not sure the Chiefs even would have kept the game close. A first round pick out of Washington University, Peters quickly climbed the ranks through training camp, and last night showed why.

Peters has the potential to further develop into a great shut down cornerback for the Chiefs this year, even when he’s outsized by the bigger wide receivers. Not to mention, he has the ability to jump routes like he did when he intercepted Manning deep in Denver territory and scored a touchdown.
Peters, and the entire secondary for that matter, are going to have a touch matchup against the Packers next week as they go up against Randall Cobb and James Jones, who have stepped up in the absence of Jordy Nelson.
If Peters plays with the same level of energy and motivation as he did last night though, he will rise to the occasion for sure.
