The NFL season officially began last night with a New England Patriots victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the KC Chiefs are still two days away from opening the season.

Their first task will be traveling to play the Houston Texans Sunday. Each week we will be previewing the upcoming Chiefs game. We’ll take a look about where the Chiefs stand, what’s going on with their opponent, and finally a prediction will be made for the game.

The first week of the season can sometimes be a crapshoot, but here in Kansas City fans feel that something special is brewing in the air.

After 20 wins the past two seasons (and one playoff loss), head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Alex Smith are in their third seasons in Kansas City and poised for something special.

That being said, the Chiefs still have to perform on the field, not just on paper, and in the NFL nothing is guaranteed.
