4) Dee Ford will eventually start over Tamba Hali

Dee Ford didn’t have a very good rookie year. He’s most known around the league for running away from 49ers running back Frank Gore, which isn’t exactly an honor. A lot of fans are wondering what Ford’s role will be in year two.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

I really think Ford has the ability to become a starter this season. We didn’t get to see him in action a whole lot last season, but with Tamba Hali aging and likely near the end of his career, I think Ford will have more opportunities to show what he has in the tank.

Now this could very well be something that doesn’t happen until the end of the season, but it’s something that could happen for sure. With Justin Houston as the other outside linebacker, Ford would have a mentor out on the field with him, and who better to motivate a young gun trying to make a name for himself in the league?

Hopefully the Chiefs will get enough of a lead in their season opener that they can put Ford in for an extended period of time and see what the guy can do.

Obviously John Dorsey didn’t take Ford for nothing. He’s got to have something to offer this team, and I predict we’ll see just what that is in 2015.
