The KC Royals are winning their division by 13 games at the end of August. Their magic number to clinch the division is down to 20 (as of August 30th).

It’s a new territory for the Kansas City Royals for sure, and one that the fans are not used to.

This time last season, our boys in blue were charging just to make it into the postseason, and now one year later, they’re far ahead of the pack. It’s a great advantage for the Royals, as they can use the next month or so to rest the superstars on the team, and can work out any kinks that might be troubling.

When September hits, the Royals will have the opportunity to call up players from the minors to join their active roster. As of now, the Royals have a 25-man roster and a 40-man roster. The 40-man roster consists of players signed to a major league deal and may be called up to the big leagues at any time.

Kansas City will have some decisions to make regarding who stays on the roster, and who is brought up. If a player is not currently on the 40-man roster, someone needs to be removed so that another guy may be added.

Note: Alex Gordon will not be included on this list, as he is not considered a September call-up, but returning from a rehab assignment.

Here are ten players who could potentially get called up come September.
