The revolving door that has been the KC Chiefs middle linebacker position might now have a few young guys cut-out for the job.

Linebackers Ramik Wilson and Justin March showed up all over the field last night for the Chiefs’ second and third-team units.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

Wilson was the Chiefs fourth-round selection in the 2015 NFL Draft, and he looked physically ready for the NFL game.

He picked off a tipped Cardinals pass and returned it 27 yards. He was scooting, too, especially for a big guy.

March has had a good camp and received plenty of playing time last night to prove it.

He’s a stocky 6-foot, 230-pound rookie out of the University of Akron and looked like a willing participant whenever he had the chance to hit something.

March and Wilson are still likely to be listed behind linebacker Josh Mauga for the second inside linebacker on the Chiefs depth chart, but it’s promising to see some bodies flying around at that position.

Both will see Special Teams duties and could make an impact there, too.

The Chiefs struggled against the run at times last season. With the return of linebacker Derrick Johnson, and hopefully the healthy return of nose tackle Dontari Poe, the middle of the defense should be a tougher sailing for opposing offenses.
