You have to like the way Charcandrick West ran last night. He’s low to the ground, powerful and he ran with his eyes up looking to create.
West carried the ball six times for 49 yards and caught three passes for 43 yards, picking up right where Knile Davis left off after leaving the game.
West has had his moments throughout camp and carried it over to the game.
He looked comfortable catching the ball out of the backfield. He was making guys miss, ran through some arm tackles and truck-sticked a Cardinals defensive back who half-heartedly tried to drive a shoulder into him. (Source: NFL.com)
That’ll get a second, maybe a third or fourth, look in the offensive film room this week for a guy trying to make a name for himself.
West also took a hand-off for 34 yards on the opening play of the third quarter.
Along with Jamaal Charles and Knile Davis, West should round out what looks like a tough group of running backs.
Just hold on to the ball, young fella. He fumbled once, but the Chiefs recovered.
West was signed by the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent before last season. He was cut, then signed to the team’s practice squad and he’s been a Chief ever since.
