(3) 1966 KC Chiefs vs. (11) 1984 KC Royals

The KC Chiefs were in the very first Super Bowl, back in 1966. They were the losers of the big game, but it is cool to say the Chiefs were in the first Super Bowl.

The Chiefs easily knocked off the 1963-1964 K-State basketball team in the first round, but will they be able to squeak past the 1984 Royals? It’ll be a little more difficult for them in this round.

The Kansas City Royals had a fun year in 1984, winning the American League West, but losing to eventual World Series champ Detroit in the long run. Obviously we all know what happened one year later though…

Everyone in KC loves their sports teams and these two are the biggest teams in town. It will be interesting to see where the loyalty lies for fans of both franchises and if the ’84 Royals can pull off an upset here.
