Bill Snyder was in his fourth season of his second stint with the Wildcats in 2012, and while he won ten games the year before, 2012 was his first conference title since returning.

Although K-State technically shared it with Oklahoma, it was their first conference championship in nine years and just their second ever in the Big 12.

The Wildcats, led by senior quarterback Collin Klein, reeled of 11 straight wins before losing at Baylor, 52-24. They lost to Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl and finished the season 11-2.

The 1963 Chiefs are on the list despite finishing 5-7-2 because it was the start of an era. Although it was a disappointing year, especially considering the franchise won the AFL Championship as the Dallas Texans the year before, football was in Kansas City to stay.

It was an up and down season that saw the Chiefs win their first game ever played, 59-7 against Denver. They would lose seven of eight games in the middle of the season, but finished with home wins against the Broncos (52-21), the Boston Patriots (35-3) and the New York Jets (48-0).
