KC Chiefs: A Pessimistic Guide To 2015 Season

“Our run defense is terrible!”
Last season, the KC Chiefs posed one of the worst run defenses in all of football. It was embarrassing. You would think things would be better in 2015, but Derrick Johnson and Mike DeVito are both A) coming off of season ending Achilles injuries and B) not the youngest guys on the block.

In a division against running backs like C.J. Anderson and Latavius Murray, the Chiefs should not be giving up 100 yards rushing. They did just that though last season, and things might not be any better with Melvin Gordon joining the division this season.
The Chiefs were embarassed many times by how bad their rush defense was, but the one shining moment for them was the fact that they didn’t allow a rushing touchdown until week 11 against the Oakland Raiders. Murray completely ran over the Chiefs that night, and it wasn’t pretty.
It’d be a shame to see the defense struggle against the run again, since the pass defense is phenomenal (and is one of the few things I don’t see fans whine about), but it might be the main source of problems on the defensive side of the ball in 2015.
