KC Chiefs: Ten Worst Starters In Past Ten Years

Samie Parker is easily one of the worst Chiefs wide receivers in not just the past ten years, but of all time. I remember watching him back when I was first really getting into football and feeling sorry for him whenever he’d drop a pass or run a wrong route because I figured he’d be running a lot in practice the next day. Now if that happens to a Chiefs receiver, I throw things and yell stuff at the TV. Growing up is fun.
Parker was a fourth round pick by the Chiefs in 2004 and went on to play in four games his rookie year with one touchdown. The following year saw Parker making nine starts out of 12 total games and he ended the year with three touchdowns.
Those first two years were “meh”. It was his third year in the league that made fans realize the Samie Parker Era was never going to happen in Kansas City.
Starting all but one game in 2006 (and appearing in the one he didn’t start), Parker only managed one touchdown and 561 yards receiving. His fourth and final year in Kansas City resulted in him starting seven games with two touchdowns on the year.

After four seasons in a Chiefs uniform, Parker had 110 receptions for 1,529 yards and only seven touchdowns. Four of those touchdowns came in his first two years when he barely saw the field and the other three came when he was a (mostly) full-time starter and the guy who should have been making things happen down the field.
Needless to say, Parker wasn’t re signed after the 2008 season. He later tried to play for the Broncos, Panthers, Seahawks, and Raiders, but never made any of those teams’ final rosters.
While Parker was terrible in the NFL, he has continued to play football over the years in the United Football League, Canadian Football League, and currently in the Arena Football League with the Los Angeles Kiss.
The NFL and Samie Parker were just not meant to be, and he remains as one of the KC Chiefs’ worst starters.
