The Kansas City Chiefs last won the AFC West in 2010, but the 10-6 team that won probably two or three more games than it should have, won’t go down in history as one of the franchise’s best teams.

After starting 9-0 in Andy Reid’s first year as head coach in 2013 they couldn’t hold off the Denver Broncos, and had to settle for a Wild Card berth.

Last season they missed the playoffs entirely at 9-7. So why then, would anyone pick them to win the division in 2015?

There are many reasons why this could be a good year for the Chiefs, but of course in-season surprises such as injuries, a step backward for a young player or a surprise team could change things.

Assuming that doesn’t happen, let’s take a look at five reasons the Chiefs have a great shot to win their division, and host a playoff game on the postseason’s second weekend.
