It was a busy day for the KC Royals, as they traveled to Minnesota to play the first place Twins, and also make their first three selections in the 2015 MLB Amateur Draft.

You could even say it was a good day for the Royals. After a Kendrys Morales home run, a line drive to the groin of Jason Vargas, a clutch single and RBI by Eric Hosmer, two top prep pitching selections from the state of Indiana and a selection from the alma mater of Kansas City Chiefs great Christian Okoye, the Royals finished their day with a win on the field and in the draft.

Going into the draft, the Royals owned selections 21, 33 and 64. Pick 21 was obviously their first round selection, while pick 33 was their compensatory/sandwich selection between rounds one and two, awarded to them as a result of the departure of James Shields. Pick 64 was their second round selection.

The next slides consist of the players they selected, along with a scouting report, courtesy of MLB.com, Jim Callis, and Blair Kerkhoff of The Kansas City Star.
