KC Chiefs: Ten Chiefs Players To Draft In Fantasy Football

While there are better receivers to take early on than Jeremy Maclin, he’s definitely somebody to take in your fantasy football drafts.
Maclin is coming off a career season in which he caught 85 passes for 1,318 yards and ten touchdowns, per his NFL.com profile. Now, it doesn’t matter how your league sets its scoring; Jeremy Maclin earned your team(s) some points last season.
Coming onto a Chiefs team that has revamped it’s offensive line and has a two-headed monster at running back, Maclin has a pretty good chance to become a solid fantasy football contributor.
It’s no secret that former Chiefs wide receiver, Dwayne Bowe, wasn’t the answer at the number one receiver spot. While he was big and strong, Bowe lacked the speed necessary to succeed in coach Andy Reid’s west coast offense. He was typically used as a run blocker.
He’s tough when he has the football. He tries to get all the yards he can and he doesn’t put the ball on the ground much at all. In fact, he’s only fumbled the ball three times in his whole career.
With Bowe gone and a speedster like Maclin in Kansas City, the Chiefs have a real good shot at becoming a vertical threat.
One thing I personally like about Maclin is that he’s tough when he has the football. He tries to get all the yards he can and he doesn’t put the ball on the ground much at all. In fact, he’s only fumbled the ball three times in his whole career.
So a receiver who is going to be the primary target, possesses the breakaway speed needed to succeed in this particular offense, and has a good tendency to not drop the football? Count me in.
I will reiterate and say that there are definitely some receivers that you should look for in the early rounds of your draft, but if you’re looking to add some depth to your roster that won’t drop a goose egg on your team, draft Maclin.
Depending on how my team is looking in the later rounds, I may or may not take him. Ultimately, its your call. Take him if you feel good about him. I feel that he can be a major scorer for your team.
