KC Chiefs: Free Agent Wide Receivers Still On The Market

Last year might have been a down year for Robert Meachem in New Orleans, but a lot of things were not good for the Saints. The fact of the matter is that Meachem is a former first round pick who still has the skills to be a dominant wide receiver in the NFL. Kansas City should consider signing him.

Meachem has spent six of his seven year NFL career in New Orleans (he was with the San Diego Chargers in 2o12) and during that time has managed to record over 2,700 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns.
He may not be starter material, but he has the ability to go out on the field and get you a big grab down the field. I’m sure many of you are thinking, “Why bother? Alex Smith doesn’t throw down the field.” Well, give Smith an offensive line and Robert Meachem, and we’ll see if anything changes.
My guess is if Meachem is with the Chiefs, he could finish the year with a touchdown or two. Not terrible for a third or fourth receiver.
