KC Chiefs: 2013 NFL Draft Two Years Later

This time last year, I was iffy on this pick because we didn’t get to see Travis Kelce play at all during his rookie season. Kelce suffered an injury during the preseason that put him on the IR in 2013.
Travis Kelce is easily the best draft pick of the Andy Reid/John Dorsey era. If you disagree with me, you’re crazy.
It’s safe to say we were all relieved when Kelce had the breakout year that he did in 2014. Kelce played in every game last year and started 11 of them. He ended his “rookie” season with 67 receptions for 862 yards and five touchdowns. Kelce had a touchdown in three straight games (weeks three through five) and quickly became a fan favorite.
Kelce’s impact was so huge that the team released former starting tight end Anthony Fasano, which for sure will give Kelce the start next year. It’s possible that the team will pick up another tight end in this year’s draft, but Kelce is without a doubt the starting tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.
