THE KANSAS CITY ROYALS HAVE THE SECOND BEST RECORD IN BASEBALL AND EVERY TEAM WANTS TO KNOCK THEM DOWN
Another game, another bench-clearing brawl involving our Kansas City Royals. This time actual punches are thrown, and physical contact was made. To the surprise of no one, this brawl featured the Chicago White Sox. Also to the surprise of no one, Yordano Ventura was on the mound at the time of the dust-up.

On the surface, through the majesty of television, it initially appeared to all of the world that Ventura was acting up. He fielded a sharp comebacker off the bat of Adam Eaton, they appeared to stare at each other, exchange words, and the fight was on.
Except a fight between, or involving, Ventura never happened. Jeff Samardzija and Lorenzo Cain became the focal point of the fight. This is a pretty important fact in all this drama, but I’ll circle back to that in a bit.
Why all the hate for Ventura? All I’m hearing and reading are fans, media, etc. bagging on Ventura. These aren’t national voices, these are our hometown voices, seemingly turning on one of their own. It’s pathetic.
We have a winning team, and a young starting pitcher with electric stuff, who also has an edge to him, and we sell out on him like this? No way. Not this guy. I’ll agree that he could mature a little bit, but I certainly don’t want him to lose his edge.
So, lets look at what actually happened.
