Best Mascot: Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks (12th seed in South)
While unconventional, filling your bracket off of mascots can sometimes be an effective way to pick your champion. In this department, the crown goes to the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks.

There are two ways to go about picking the “Best Mascot”: by picking the better mascot in a matchup, or by picking the mascot that would win in an actual battle between the two. Call me crazy, but I have done the latter in the past, and it didn’t turn out terribly. Sometimes these tournament games are better off left up to chance.
And there’s worse teams than Stephen F. Austin. The 29-4 Lumberjacks are a 12 seed, the same seed as they were last year when they beat the 5th seeded VCU. The Lumberjacks finished top 10 in the country in scoring, assist and field goal percentage. They are led by junior Thomas Walkup (15.7 ppg) and senior Jacob Parker (14.1 ppg).
Plus, with a mascot like the Lumberjacks, you always will have a chance for a win. Come on, their first game is against the Utah Utes. Lumberjacks > Utes.
