Harry Douglas spent seven seasons with the Atlanta Falcons and was released by the team on Friday, according to ESPN.com. The reason Douglas is the fifth option here is because I’m not sure that he’s the type of receiver that the Chiefs are looking for.

More from Chiefs Free Agency

Through six active seasons (Douglas didn’t play at all during the 2009 season), Douglas only accounted for one 1,000 yard season and that was in 2013 after Julio Jones went down. Despite having over 1,000 receiving yards, Douglas only saw the end zone twice in 2014.

He only had eight touchdowns during his entire career. The Chiefs need a wide receiver who has seen the end zone more frequently because as we all know, their 2014 receivers had some issues with making it there.

The only upside is that Harry Douglas has shown he can gain yardage after the catch and did so beautifully in 2013. He’d also be a cheaper option, which is always a positive when thinking about the Chiefs’ cap situation. Kansas City really doesn’t have room to be picky with free agents due to their money issues.
