The Kansas City Chiefs probably rescued their season with their win in Miami. Starting 0-2 is bad enough, with only 12% of teams pulling off the feat since 1990. Had the Chiefs lost on Sunday, their odds would go down to 2%.
The Chiefs pulled off their 34-15 victory in Miami with some help from new offensive wrinkles, such as utilizing all 3 of there tight ends on the field at the same time.
Sporting KC won its 2nd straight match, winning 3-0 over Real Esteli in their CONCACAF Champions League match.
Meanwhile, Kansas Jayhawks coach Charlie Weis calls out KU fans for failing to support the football team before the Jayhawks’ game against big-12 rival Texas.
KANSAS CITY ROYALS
- Kings of Kauffman – Danny Duffy could be the Royals next ace:
"Despite not breaking camp with the Royals this spring, Duffy may well be their most consistent pitcher this season. His 9-11 record belies how effective Duffy has truly been, as he has posted a 2.32 ERA and a 1.09 WHiP this season. If he’s qualified for amongst the pitching leaders, Duffy would be third in ERA and fifth in WHiP, ahead of such pitchers as Max Scherzer and Jon Lester."
- Royals Review – The Royals vs. the Changeup:
"So generally the Royals fell in the bottom 25ish in the league when it comes to pitch value on the changeup and over a 5-year span they are 25th worst."
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
- Arrowhead Addict – Tour of Clark Hunt’s Arrowhead Suite:
"Kansas City Chiefs chairman and CEO Clark Hunt isn’t rich, he’s wealthy—there’s a difference.Rich people stand in a press box to watch the game on the field. Wealthy people stand by their window to watch the game on their lawn."
- Arrowhead Pride – Andy Reid throws a new wrinkle into the Kansas City offense:
"You’re a defensive coordinator, and you’ve heard all about how Andy Reid doesn’t run double tight end formations. Except all that handy information isn’t helping you because not only is he coming at you with two tight ends on the majority of his plays, he’s coming at you with THREE tight ends on the formation."
