Not only is Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk going to be just 17-years old during the 2014-2015 season, he will most likely be a shooting guard/small forward at Kansas. Even so, listed at 6’8″, he was a smooth ball handler as an international player.

…it is unsure how strong he will be in his first year, or how good of a defensive player he will be.

While his highlight reel indicates Mykhailiuk has nice range on his jump shot, it is unsure how strong he will be in his first year, or how good of a defensive player he will be.

How will he defend against top notch collegiate opponents? That could determine how much he plays as a freshman.

Mykhailiuk could surprise and earn a starting nod, but it is much more likely to be as a shooting guard than as a point guard. Even then, the odds seem long that he will start this season for the Jayhawks.
