Greg Holland, like Gordon and Perez, is looking to make his second straight All-Star Game. Holland is tied for the American League lead in saves with Fernando Rodney with 23 and has been nearly as good as he was in 2013 this season. He’s had a couple of hiccups in recent weeks, giving up two ninth inning home runs during the last home stand, but he’s still striking out almost 14 batters per nine innings and has an ERA of just 1.99

How good has Holland been over the last two seasons? When he allowed two runs in a 7-5 loss to the Mariners on June 20th, it was the first time in 95 appearances he’d allowed more than one run.

Kansas City Royals fans would love to see Holland get a chance to close out an American League victory, but in all likelihood, Farrell will give that nod to his own player, Boston’s Koji Uehara, which like Holland has freakish numbers over the past three seasons. Regardless, Holland is clearly one of the leagues best bullpen arms and should be rewarded with another All-Star appearance.

Holland’s odds: 3/1
