THE LOCK – PERRY ELLIS
Perry Ellis is the most experienced and polished big man for the Jayhawks. At 6’8″, 225 pounds, the junior forward is a scorer but need a lot of work on the defensive end.

In his sophomore campaign, his first as a starter, Ellis was second on the team in scoring, averaging 13.5 points a game. He was also second on the team with 6.7 rebounds a contest.
Ellis is a enigma. He seemingly dominates lesser skilled players but struggles against more talented opposition. He tends to just disappear on offense at times, and is not an accomplished player on defense.
Ellis’ offense and experience will be needed every game but Ellis needs to improve his strength and toughness inside. He has to be better on the defensive end of the court. He could also play with more emotion more often.
Perry Ellis is a very talented basketball player, and he will be very valuable to Bill Self. He could be the team leader if he can be more consistent and more vocal. Regardless, he is a lock to start for the Jayhawks this season.
