14. Kentucky Wildcats
Record: 0-1
Previous Ranking: 14 (Trend: — )
Last Week: Western Kentucky 35, Kentucky 26
This Week: vs. Miami (Ohio)
Next Week: vs. Louisville
For the second-straight year, the Kentucky Wildcats couldn’t pull out a victory against in-state rival Western Kentucky, and ruined the debut of Mark Stoops. With a tough game against Miami (Ohio) coming up next week and four-game stretch against teams ranked in the top 12, Kentucky may not win a game until they play Alabama State on November 2.
We knew this was going to be a long season for the Wildcats going into the season. The hope has to be that the Wildcats can manage to get better as the season progresses, and to keep recruiting at a high level as they are now.
One debut not ruined was former Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino, who was coaching his first game with WKU and first since his scandal-laden motorcycle accident.
