10 Chiefs Whose Time in KC Will End After 2025 Super Bowl Loss
3. Skyy Moore - WR
The Chiefs selected Skyy Moore with the 54th pick in the 2022 NFL draft. The former Western Michigan product ran a 4.41 40-yard dash, which intrigued the Chiefs. Moore's speed allowed him to record 14.5 yards per reception in three seasons at Western Michigan. Furthermore, Moore caught 171 passes for 2,482 yards and 15 touchdowns with the Broncos.
Kansas City felt that they would be able to develop Moore like they had Tyreek Hill. Unfortunately, Moore has not panned out as a receiver. In three seasons, Moore has recorded 43 receptions of 74 targets for 494 yards and one touchdown. While Pro Football Reference only credits Moore for four drops in three seasons, it certainly felt like more.
This may result from the fact that Moore has dropped some critical passes. Nevertheless, Moore's production is not what fans or the organization thought he would provide.
Moore spent most of the 2024 season on injured reserve with a core muscle injury. Despite that, his time with the Chiefs could be coming to an end this offseason. Although Moore does have one more season on his rookie contract, it's possible that the Chiefs cut him.
Cutting Moore would mean the Chiefs are admitting they made a mistake by drafting him. While Brett Veach is a great general manager, making that decision is difficult.
Moving on from Moore would leave the Chiefs with only Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy and Nikko Remigio under contract. That's not to say they won't try to bring a player like DeAndre Hopkins back, but keeping Moore would provide another option.
In the end, it would be no surprise if Moore was no longer a Chief in 2025.
