Kansas City is one of the best sports towns in the country, and KC Kingdom has a lot of fun bringing you news from around the area for our professional and collegiate teams.

Few fans are as passionate about their teams than Kansas City fans, whether it is making Arrowhead Stadium the loudest outside venue in the world, or filling up Sporting Park each match, or being Royal in Kauffman Stadium. The area also supports three of the most passionate college fan bases in the country.

More from Kansas City Chiefs

Each morning, we will try to bring you some news from around our sports kingdom, in addition to the news, information, editorials, and analysis KC Kingdom already provides.

We may also pass along an interesting post or two from around the world-wide web, just for fun.

We hope enjoy the news from Around The Kingdom. Happy reading!

Organized Team Activities continue at Arrowhead Stadium. While you can’t really tell much about players when they’re running around in shorts without pads: fans, media, and even football personnel people can’t help but react to what they see on the field. Arrowhead Pride’s Joel Thorman writes about how rookie 1st round pick Dee Ford has impressed his peers with his quick first step:

"“That guy is explosive, ” said [fellow linebacker Joe] Mays. “He’s quick off the ball. He kinda reminds me of Von Miller with the way that he gets off the ball and gets around the offensive linemen. He’s a freak man. He knows how to work angles and uses his hands real well. He can bend and do all types of stuff you don’t see in the everyday pass rushers. Definitely ‘as advertised’.”"

Over at Arrowhead Addict, Ben Nielsen asks what seems to be a ridiculous question: Was Len Dawson better than John Elway? Though nonsensical on it’s face, Nielsen contends there is a case to be made.

Alex Gordon has been smashing the ball since mid-May. He leads the team in almost every hitting category, including an almost respectable total of 7 home runs. David Hill at Kings of Kauffman argues that Gordon should be the no. 3 hitter.

With the Royals recent surge putting them in second place only 2.5 games behind the Tigers, and only 4.5 games separating 1st from last place in the A.L. Central, those pre-season predictions of the Detroit having an easy walk to the title look to be in doubt. Jeff Sullivan at Fangraphs.com takes a long look at Detroit’s title expectations.

Joel Thorman at Arrowhead Pride is also thinking about OTAs. He has a report on the last workout at Arrowhead here.
