Tyreek Hill Already Predicting He'll Beat Chiefs in Playoffs

Tyreek Hill's latest anti-Chiefs comments could be his most ridiculous ones yet.

Ever since he left the Kansas City Chiefs, the Tyreek Hill-Chiefs news cycle has fallen into a sort of rhythm. First there's drama that he wants to leave the Miami Dolphins, then there is specualtion about a Chiefs reunion, then that speculation gets shut down as being obviously ridiculous. Then he goes back to making absolutely ridiculous pro-Dolphins (and often anti-Chiefs) comments.

And that's where we find ourselves in the cycle as July approaches. Always looking to make headlines, Hill made maybe his most ridiculous comments yet.

Tyreek Hill Makes Most Ridiculous Chiefs Comments

I almost don't even want to address the Tua Tagovailoa comment — it's so obviously ridiculous that it sounds like even Hill thinks it's funny while he says it. Of course you need to hype up your quarterback, but that is especially funny coming from someone who has had the chance to play with Mahomes. So let's not waste any more breath on that part.

But almost as ridiculous is picking the Dolphins over the Chiefs in the AFC Championship for next year. The same Miami Dolphins who have not won a playoff game in the five years that Tua has been in town (not to mention the decade-plus before that). The same Dolphins who finished with a losing record in 2024. The same Dolphins that PFF had as their No. 23-ranked team in overall grade last season.

Once again though, it doesn't even sound like Hill believes what he says. His reasoning was that the Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers played in the NBA Championship, so "anything can happen."

Aside from the fact that he seems to forget that the Thunder finished first in the Western Conference in the 2023-24 regular season, if you're relying on "anything can happen" to predict your team making a Super Bowl appearance, you're on some pretty shaky legs.

And for the betting-inclined among us, the Dolphins' +3700 odds to win the AFC on FanDuel Sportsbook (fifth-worst in the conference, ahead of only the Browns, Titans, Jets and Raiders) show just how much of a long-shot they are.

But could Hill's Dolphins actually beat the Chiefs if they somehow made it to the AFC Championship game? History says no.

Tyreek Hill Record Against the Chiefs

Tyreek HIll's Dolphins have faced the Chiefs twice, going 0-2 and losing by a combined 26 points. The worst of those two losses was a playoff showdown, and it was a 26-7 destruction. Although, to give credit where it's due, Hill showed up in both games:

  • 11-5-2023 (21-14 Chiefs win): 8 receptions for 62 yards on 10 targets
  • 1-13-2024 (27-6 Chiefs win): 5 receptions for 62 yards and 1 touchdown on 8 targets

Funnily enough, one of the main culprits for those losses was his "best quarterback in the NFL", who didn't eclipse 200 passing yards in either game, throwing a combined 2 touchdowns with 1 interception and getting sacked five times.

The Chiefs aren't slated to play the Dolphins on the regular season schedule, but as -420 favorites to make the playoffs, expect KC to be waiting for Hill if the Dolphins do somehow make it to the postseason.
