Star WR Reveals Shocking Truth About Chiefs' Trade Rumors
By Cem Yolbulan
While Chiefs fans are desperately hoping for a trade for a wide receiver, their rivals around the league reloaded in the position. The Jets acquired Davante Adams while the Bills brought in Amari Cooper in blockbuster trades earlier in the week.
Ever since Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown went down for the season, there has been a widespread expectation that the Chiefs would add another pass-catcher before the November 5th trade deadline. Adams and Cooper were both rumored targets for Kansas City but nothing obviously came to fruition.
Adams was asked about the behind-the-scenes of the trade on the Up & Adams show. When Kay Adams asked the Pro Bowler whether he had the Chiefs on his list of desirable destinations, the star receiver gave a surprising answer.
NFL News: WR Davante Adams Had No Interest in Joining the Chiefs
He didn't want to elaborate on the reasons why but Adams said he didn't have the Chiefs on the list he gave the Raiders. He added that it was talked about but he decided against it.
"It was talked about. I don't want to say anything crazy but the Chiefs weren't on the list."
- Jets WR Davante Adams
Considering that the 31-year-old has never won a Super Bowl, his lack of interest in maximizing his chances of winning one is certainly surprising. In Kansas City, he would have become the WR1 and have a great chance of building his legacy.
Perhaps, Adams only wanted to join the Jets to reunite with Aaron Rodgers. That was the worst-kept secret ever since Rodgers went to New York. It obviously doesn't give the three-time All-Pro the best chance to contend but he surely had his reasons.
