The Panthers apparently aren't happy with the way the referees called Sunday's game against the Chiefs and one valuable Carolina defender is making a pathetic excuse about Patrick Mahomes following the loss.
Jadeveon Clowney, who finished with three tackles, 1.5 sacks and two tackles for loss, challenged the officiating crew. These referees were far from perfect, though it's hard to argue they were responsible for Kansas City's win.
This reads more just as a salty opponent realizing he joined the wrong team now trying to desperately throw shade on the NFL's best team.
Panthers DE Jadeveon Clowney Calls Out Patrick Mahomes for Referee Treatment
Panthers OLB Jadeveon Clowney says Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, who had one of his better days scrambling, does a lot of flopping on the sideline when asked about the calls Mahomes gets.

Mahomes broke off a 33-yard run on the final drive to help seal the win. While Clowney may not remember the play correctly, there was never a moment that Mahomes utilized the sideline to avoid a hit.
In fact, Mahomes cut up field thanks to a key block. Carolina's poor defensive performance had nothing to do with the referees, merely the Panthers' own inadequacies.
Jadeveon Clowney thought refs called things too close on Jaycee Horn, who picked up three penalties (two accepted) playing mostly vs. DeAndre Hopkins.

"Don't get the flags involved every time it's a gotta-have-it situation."
It's fair for him to question certain penalties but for that to be the focus of his post-game presser was a bit sad. Clowney had a phenomenal game and is a great player, yet his defense couldn't slow Mahomes down when it mattered most.
Kansas City's three-time Super Bowl MVP had three TDs and no interceptions. While he was sacked five times, that clearly didn't matter when the game was on the line.
Comments like these are always a bad look. For Clowney, you can feel the frustration spilling over despite his great effort against the Chiefs.
