OTAs have been happening all over the league this week, and the Kansas City Chiefs are one of those teams. Players reported to the building on May 27 and have a couple of practices happening until June 13. Mandatory minicamp then runs from June 17 to June 19.

These sessions give players the chance to build chemistry, while others are just happy to be back on the field. Receiver Rashee Rice is one of these guys and got Patrick Mahomes' attention for the right reasons.

When speaking to the media on Thursday, Mahomes said, "He looks like Rashee... There's no limitations. He looks explosive and fast."

Patrick Mahomes Had Some Good Things To Say About Rashee Rice

Rice suffered a torn LCL in Week 4 last season and was forced to miss the entire season. The Chiefs and Mahomes are certainly thrilled he's back on the field healthy.

He burst onto the scene in 2023 and became a reliable outlet for Mahomes. Over 16 games (8 starts) in 2023, Rice had 79 catches for 938 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He was off to a hot start in 2024, posting 24 catches for 288 yards and two touchdowns in four games.

The fact that he already is looking explosive and fast is a great sign. The Chiefs are a better offense when he's out there, so the next couple of months will be huge. It will give him more time to get more strength in that knee and be ready to hit the ground running in September.

Last season was rough for Chiefs playmakers. They lost Rice, Isiah Pacheco, and Marquise Brown for an extended period of time, yet they still managed to make the Super Bowl again.

They are hoping things will be different in 2025, and Rice's presence on the field could definitely do that.
